That is the end of my Final Portfolio for my Digital Photography class.  Each project taught me a little bit more on photography. I enjoyed doing the final project but it was tough. The hardest part was finding people and then working around their schedule. After that, find a location. Once that’s found, having your models portray an idea that you have in your head and for it to come to life. :D

The final picture of my collection is of my mother.  I took this picture in the same setting as my sister but I wanted to have a black and white feel on it so I adjusted the settings and did minor editing.  My mother is a hard worker, caring, and independent woman.  With all of those characteristics, it was hard to put it all in one picture. She’s the type of person who is willing to give you a helping hand or give you the guidance your trying to seek.  This is why I’m proud to call her my mother. <3

(***Picture 7 is below the photographers I was inspired by. I’m not sure how that got out of sequence)

This shot was taken indoors inside my sister’s room.  I wanted to take a picture there for a couple of reasons. One reason I took it in her room was because this is the one place where she spends most of her time.  My sister is corky, keeps to herself, loves to read, and comes out with the most ridiculous things to say which exemplifies her personality in this photo.  Another reason I wanted to take her photo there was because of the bright red wall.  The contrast between the wall and her was exactly what I wanted from the photo.

I took this photo at Slater Park in Pawtucket, RI.  I took the picture hand held.  Took a couple of pictures before I got the right one. There people and their pets walking by. This is another cousin of mine.  I feel this captured his charismatic and bubbly personality.  He always is joking around and is generally a happy person all around.  he continues to put a smile on his face after what he has gone through in his life.

This picture was taken in Cranston.  I like this picture because the colors came out and it brought out the photo.  This is one of my cousins sitting on some of his steps.  Luckily I caught him laughing!

This was taken in Mystic, CT.  We were driving and ended up at this lake with a gorgeous view.  I jumped out of my car and started taking pictures of the lake and my boyfriend. I caught this photo which shows off his personality by being goofy and serious at the same time.

This was taking inside again.  He likes to take pictures but they are usually serious. I was able to get a smidgen of his personality in this shot.  The half smile shows what kind of person he is.  Always up to no good.

This photo was taken inside of my friends house.  I brought the sunflowers as a prop because that’s the type of person she really is.  She always tries to bring sunshine on the days that your down.

The photographer that I chose was…

The photographer that I chose to mimic was Peggy Sirota.  I chose her because I like how she gets her model to engage and bring out their personality.  By saying this, the theme of my photos is ‘Personality Snapshot’.  She is able to bring out the person she is taking pictures of than taking boring pictures.  All my pictures were taken with my Canon SLR EOS Rebel T3i.

Another photographer that inspired me was Mark Seliger.  His shots caught my eye because of the seriousness of the photos.  He takes colored and black and white photography.  The black and white portraits felt like a story is trying to be told but can’t quite be told completely.  When I look at his photos, some of them appear to be sad with no hope at the end of the tunnel and then there are some portraits of people that show the reality of things and how life is.

This semester I took Digital Photography 1 class and my Final Portfolio is going to be shared on Tumblr.  One photographer that grabbed my attention was Peggy Sirota.  Reason being was because she can take anyone and bring out their personality.  Her pictures are colorful, energetic, personal, and has a meaning behind each pictures she takes.  She has taken pictures from Tina Turner to Harrison Ford to Yoko Ono and many more.  She also does work in advertising campaigns like Lucky Brand Jeans, T-Mobile, and Toyota.  Another reason I like her work is the energy that you see in the photo or what kind of person they are.

***This was also taken at Slater Park.  I took a picture of them both together because I wanted to incorporate how different their personalities are.  My cousin on the left always has a lot of things on his plate but the picture shows how chaotic his life may be but is able to handle it.  My cousin on the right is not stressed out ever but the way he poses with his arms out shows his forget about it and relaxed personality.
